Jacksonville, Florida (NASDAQ-LSTR) Landstar System, Inc., a safety-first non-asset based provider of transportation capacity and logistics services, has named Janel Losh and Chris Cleveland May Employees of the Month.

Losh, a customer service coordinator in the BCO Services department at the company’s Rockford Service Center, has been with Landstar since June 2005. She was nominated by her supervisor and co-workers for her upbeat attitude, knowledge in her field and willingness to go above and beyond to get the job done. BCO is Landstar’s term for the independent contractors who provide the company with transportation capacity under exclusive lease arrangements.

“Janel is a great asset to customer service. She brings a ‘can do’ attitude to work every day,” said Julie Wright, a supervisor in the BCO Services department. “She never walks away from an issue until she feels satisfied with the result.”

Losh is a native of the Chicago area and has lived in Rockford for about 4 years. She and her husband, Jay, have been married since 1997 and have three children, ages 14, 10 and 8. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family.

Cleveland, a C.A.B.S. coordinator at the BCO Orientation Center in Grand Prairie, Texas, has been with Landstar since September 2004. He was nominated by BCOs and co-workers for his knowledge, experience in the industry and ability to assist BCOs in becoming safer and more profitable.

“What makes Chris an effective player on the Landstar team are his constant efforts to improve himself and help our BCOs improve themselves,” said Mark Gillette, manager of C.A.B.S./Orientation. “He regularly asks how he can help make our programs more beneficial for Landstar and for our BCOs.”

A native of San Angelo, Texas, Cleveland has lived in the Dallas, Texas area for 20 years. He has two children ages 18 and 15. In his spare time, he enjoys investing and finance and studying history, particularly Native American culture.

Landstar President and CEO Henry Gerkens commended Cleveland and Losh on their desire to get the job done right and their ability to help others.

“There is tenacity in the way Chris and Janel approach their work. Both have an intense desire to find ways to improve themselves and improve situations for those around them,” said Gerkens. “We are proud to have them on our team.”
