July 19, 2000 Jacksonville, Florida - Landstar System, Inc., a safety first transportation and information services company, today announced the promotion of Jim Gattoni to Vice President, Corporate Controller. In his new position, Gattoni will be responsible for all phases of accounting at Landstar System, Landstar Gemini, Landstar Ligon and Landstar Ranger, as well as internal and external financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
"Jim has always been impressive in areas of accounting and financial reporting," said Landstar Executive Vice President and CFO Henry Gerkens. "His attention to detail and knowledge of Landstar's intricate system make him an excellent choice for this position."
Prior to launching his career with Landstar in 1995 as Corporate Controller, Gattoni served as Senior Audit Manager at KMPG LLP. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Ramapo College in New Jersey. Gattoni and his wife Ann live in Jacksonville, Florida with their three children.
