February 25, 2000 Jacksonville, FL - Landstar System, Inc., a safety-first transportation services company, announced today the promotion of Carol Ligon to Director of Sales Administration at Landstar Ligon. In her new position, Ligon will be responsible for the Document Control and Records Retention Department as well as the Sales Administration Department.
"Carol is dedicated to building solid relationships with our agent family and field staff, providing sales and marketing support and assistance that is timely and accurate," said Landstar Ligon President Tom Beam. "We're pleased to recognize her valuable contributions by expanding her management role."
Ligon, who joined Landstar in 1971, has experience in many areas of the company including executive support positions, Word Processing Supervisor and Manager of Corporate Communications. Since her promotion to Manager of Sales Administration in 1987, she has worked extensively with Landstar's business partners. She and her staff are instrumental in the planning and execution of special company-sponsored events like Landstar agent meetings, Landstar Appreciation Days and monthly Safety Day activities.
Ligon is active in local and statewide politics and an avid basketball fan.
