Jacksonville, Florida (NASDAQ-LSTR) Landstar System, Inc., a safety-first non-asset based provider of transportation capacity and logistics services, has named Mark Harris and Ginger Evans the September Employees of the Month at the company’s service centers in Rockford, Illinois, and Jacksonville, Florida, respectively.
Harris, a supervisor in the Heavy/Specialized Services department, has been with Landstar for 19 years. Harris assists agents in the bidding process with pricing and capacity estimation. He was nominated by members of the Capacity Services department, a vice president of national accounts and a Landstar independent agent for his professional attitude and willingness to assist in any situation.
“No matter what, on a moment’s notice, Mark is always someone you can count on,” said Landstar Independent Agent Mark Durfee. “Mark has never failed to meet the challenge or a deadline and always keeps the big picture in mind. His actions are deserving of praise.”
Harris, a native of Illinois, has lived in Rockford for 19 years. He and his wife, Kari, have been married 26 years. In his spare time, Harris enjoys hunting and spending time outdoors.
Evans, a lead representative in the Revenue Processing department, has been with Landstar since November of 2000. She was nominated by a manager in her department for her strong work ethic, optimistic outlook and never-ending desire to learn.
“Ginger has a well-rounded understanding of the department. She is very committed to teamwork and shows a consistent willingness and ability to help all of her customers, be it a co-worker, agent, business capacity owner (BCO) or anyone else in need,” said Lisa Ashmore, a manager in the Revenue Processing department. BCO is Landstar’s term for the independent contractors who provide the company with transportation capacity under exclusive lease arrangements.
Evans, a native of Athens, Georgia, has lived in Jacksonville for 10 years. She and her husband, Michael, have been married for two years. In her spare time, Ginger attends college and enjoys shopping and working with various foundations which help women in need.
Landstar President and CEO Henry Gerkens commended Harris and Evans on their willingness and ability to assist others.
