For the second time this year, Landstar is giving away a big rig to one of the more than 9,000 independent owner-operators leased to Landstar. Come July, one lucky winner will drive home from the annual Landstar BCO All-Star Celebration in a brand new 2017 Western Star 5700XE.

The red pearl Western Star features a Detroit DD15, 14.8L engine and a Detroit DT12-DA-1650 Heavy Duty 12-speed direct drive automated manual transmission. The truck’s spacious cab has a 68-inch Stratosphere High Roof, which Western Star touts as a testament to the truck’s versatility and comfort.

According to the truck maker, the interior of the 5700XE is designed with comfort, space and storage to spare. The cab is accented with cherry wood cabinets, closets, two moveable shelves, and features a 35-inch wide, liftable lower bunk and foldable upper bunk. The cab also showcases a top-of-dash navigation prep, Bluetooth and microphone technologies, and an AM/FM/WB/SiriusXM radio with CD player.

The Western Star 5700XE takes efficiency to the extreme, from the standard Western Star sun visor with LED marker lights to the three-piece headlights that cost less to replace. Western Star boasts that every feature and component on the truck is refined for maximum aerodynamics, fuel efficiency and dependability.

The Landstar All-Star Truck Giveaway, sponsored by Comdata and Western Star, will be the grand finale of the 2017 BCO All-Star Celebration being held in Nashville, Tennessee, July 7-9, 2017. The annual event honors Landstar Million Mile Safe Drivers and Landstar Roadstar recipients for their safe driving records and professionalism.

In January, Landstar also gave away a truck during its Landstar BCO Appreciation Days in Jacksonville. At that time, BCO Ralph Hall drove home in a new 2017 Peterbilt 579.
