Landstar awarded two longtime employees with the company’s highest achievement awards at its 2023 Landstar Agent Convention.

Executive Vice President of Specialized Freight Services Al Reisman received the Jeffrey C. Crowe-Robert E. Zonneville Lifetime Achievement Award. The honor, first presented by Landstar 29 years ago, is awarded to an employee who not only succeeds at Landstar, but also helps others succeed along the way.

Reisman joined Landstar in 1986 as a management trainee with a Bachelor of Science degree and double major in marketing and finance from Northern Illinois University. During his 37-year career at Landstar, Reisman has filled the roles of region sales manager, region vice president and executive vice president for field operations.

“Al has always done more than just fill a position. He is a leader, and a team player who has traveled all over this country to educate customers and potential customers about Landstar services, and nurture relationships with the entrepreneurs in our network,” said Landstar President and CEO Jim Gattoni during the awards presentation.

Gattoni added, Reisman is a successful Landstar employee, with a long-standing commitment to Landstar, its customers, independent agents and carriers who helps others in the Landstar network to reach their full potential.

Landstar Outstanding Management Achievement Award

Landstar Senior Executive Vice President Matt Dannegger was honored with the Landstar Outstanding Management Achievement Award. Landstar senior management nominates candidates for this award based on effective leadership, managerial skills, significant contributions in the sales, operations or administrative areas, and improved efficiencies or growth for Landstar’s network of independent small and large business owners, and to Landstar as a whole.

“Since Matt joined Landstar in 2008, he has made it his mission to empower Landstar agents to succeed by providing the support they need to be successful in our highly competitive industry,” said Landstar President and CEO Jim Gattoni during the award presentation.

He added, “Matt’s industry knowledge and experience with Landstar is invaluable in overseeing growth of existing agencies throughout the U.S. and Canada, as well as growth in the pipeline of potential new agents and new customers.”

Dannegger worked his way up from region sales manager to region vice president in the Western Field Division, and then in 2018, to executive vice president of the Northern Field Division. Earlier this year, he was promoted to senior executive vice president in charge of the region field teams and corporate sales.
