Congratulations to the Landstar independent owner-operators whose children received money from the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) Scholarship Fund for the 2025-2026 academic year. The children of three business capacity owners (BCOs) were selected for this year's award.

Endowed Named Scholarships to Four-Year University Recipients

• Jorleney Aguirre, child of BCO Apolonio Aguirre, who won the Keith Tuttle Scholarship – $3,250

Four-Year University Scholarship Recipients at $2,725 Each

• Charles McClister, child of BCO Charles McClister III
• Roberto Rodriguez, child of BCO Mayra Rodriguez

According to the TCA, the scholarship fund has provided scholarships to students associated with the trucking industry since 1973. Each scholarship recipient must be a good-standing student attending a four-year or two-year college or university and related to a TCA member company. Landstar is a member of the association, which represents dry van, refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, and intermodal container carriers operating throughout North America.

Much like the TCA, Landstar provides academic award opportunities through its scholarship fund. For the 2025-2026 academic year, Landstar recently announced $50,000 in funds awarded to 15 recipients. Winners earned $4,000 and $3,000 scholarships towards a college of their choice. The recipients' names were revealed in April at Landstar’s annual agent convention. 

The Landstar Scholarship Fund was established to further support our independent business owners, whose children represent outstanding academic achievement. Recipients are well-rounded individuals whose qualities exemplify Landstar's commitment to excellence.

Landstar has awarded 429 scholarships totaling more than $1.15 million to the children of Landstar agents, BCOs and employees since 1995. The selection process is decided by an independent selection committee of professors from the University of North Florida who evaluate student applications.
