For the second consecutive year, Landstar has been recognized by the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) as an Elite Fleet certified carrier. Landstar joins North America’s distinguished 2026 class of truckload carriers honored as TCA’s “Best Places to Drive.” 

The Elite Fleet initiative highlights for-hire truckload carriers that excel in fostering supportive, rewarding, and driver-centric work environments. The certification program was developed in partnership with the University of Denver’s Transportation & Supply Chain Institute to recognize “best-in-class” carriers. 

“We are honored to once again receive the Truckload Carriers Association’s Elite Fleet designation,” said Landstar President and Chief Executive Officer Frank Lonegro. “The Landstar network is proud to support our independent business capacity owners who deliver every load, every day, with a focus on safety, security, and service.” 

According to the TCA, certified carriers undergo a rigorous evaluation process that examines safety, driver satisfaction, turnover, compensation and benefits, equipment quality, operational efficiency, and overall driver experience. Surveys of drivers and independent contractors were conducted to validate the results. 

TCA President Jim Ward said, “The carriers recognized in 2026 have demonstrated a strong commitment to investing in their drivers and fostering environments where professionals can thrive. We commend these fleets for raising the bar and helping move our industry forward.” 

Landstar executives accepted the honor in March at the TCA’s annual event hosted in Orlando, Florida.
