February 6, 2002 Jacksonville, Florida - Jacksonville, Florida - Landstar System, Inc., a safety-first transportation capacity provider, has named Trudy Kasnick, a representative in the BCO Services department, 2001 Employee of the Year.
Kasnick plays a vital role in working with Landstar business capacity owners (BCOs) to find solutions in some difficult situations. Kasnick draws on her 18 years experience at Landstar to help new BCOs adjust to the system and works with veterans on a variety of challenges they face owning and operating their own business.
"Trudy is a model employee with a can-do attitude that is evident in every challenge she tackles,” says Landstar President and COO Henry Gerkens. "She sets a good example for those around her by expending the time and effort necessary to satisfy the concerns of our business capacity owners. She also goes out of her way to help new co-workers. Her type of professionalism helps make Landstar the industry leader it is.”
Gerkens, Landstar Chairman and CEO Jeff Crowe, and Landstar Vice President of Human Resources Joan Norve chose Kasnick from 24 candidates - 12 employees of the month from the Rockford Service Center and 12 from the Jacksonville Service Center. As 2001 Employee of the Year, Kasnick will represent all employees at Landstar's annual agent convention in Orlando, Florida, in April.
Kasnick joined Landstar in 1983. In a typical month, she handles twice the number of calls as anyone in her department. In fact, with her 18 years experience and a monthly volume of 2,600 calls, she has handled an estimated total of 561,000 calls.
Kasnick lives in Rockford, Illinois with her husband and two teenage daughters, who, she says, handle all incoming calls.
