Landstar System, Inc. presented the 2018 Landstar Safety Officer of the Year Award to independent Landstar Agent Ike Tate during Landstar’s Annual Agent Convention held in Marco Island, Fla.

The customer-centric program is unmatched in the industry and designed to give members of the Landstar safety team a direct connection with the shipper to support its safety efforts.

As Landstar’s “ambassadors of safety,” Landstar Safety Officers (LSOs) are the representatives from each independent agency at the forefront of Landstar’s Mutual Understanding of Safety Together or M.U.S.T. program.

As Landstar’s highest honor for business capacity owners (BCOs), the company’s term for independent owner-operators with exclusive lease agreements, Roadstar award winners are considered the most elite professional drivers.
